Syllabus: | Historical and theoretical perspectives on television, its economic significance and its social and cultural impact, with particular emphasis on the daily 'living with television' that is common in 'televised' societies. Selected topics include political economy of television, global corporations and national cultures, audiences, genres, and domestic life. |
