Syllabus:Further development of basic physiotherapy competencies in the management of selected cardiopulmonary problems. Problems covered typically include - dyspnoea, decreased exercise tolerance, respiratory muscle weakness and fatigue, airflow limitation, impaired gas exchange and impaired airway clearance. Aspects of cardiopulmonary problems covered include - pathophysiology, assessment and management.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Identified client problems relevant to the cardiopulmonary physiotherapist. Discussed the physiotherapy and medical management of each problem. Selected appropriate outcome measures to evaluate physiotherapy intervention.
