Syllabus:Clinical school dental therapy practice including patient assessment, preventive and treatment procedures. Patient information, records, treatment plans, referrals, consultations. Further occupational health considerations. Restorative dentistry - routine care, pulp therapies, management of complicated cases. Exodontia. Suture removal. Dental trauma. Mouthguards. Orthodontics - assessment, care of appliances. *This unit has additional practical/clinical hours conducted outside of normal semester hours.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Performed specific preclinical patient care procedures. Assessed patient needs and prepare school dental therapy treatment plans as a component of a patients' overall dental management. Provided specific school dental therapy care for patients. Participated in a team approach to the delivery of dental care.
