302789 (v.1) Structural Design 365 or any previous version
Syllabus:Steel - portal frame design, building bracing systems. Design Project and Innovation in Design - design activities using steel, timber and concrete design skills. Case studies of innovative structural design solutions. Prestressed concrete - Introduction, materials, losses, analysis, design - flexure and shear, Endzones, practical aspects, partial prestress, continuity and model competition

Unit Outcomes: On the completion of the unit, the student will have knowledge of steel frame design, and behaviour and design of simple prestressed concrete structures. The student will also be introduced to the innovations in structural design and understand the design process from concepts to detailed design.
