Syllabus:Examination of the insurance industry, compliance issues and professional conduct, - insurance policy law, life insurance, consumer protection, other types of personal risk insurance, general (non-life) insurance and legislated compulsory insurance.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will have- Outlined the different forms of risk an individual may face, and those forms that can be managed through insurance planning. Described the five steps involved in risk management. Understood the regulatoryframework governing the insurance industry. Identified, analysed and evaluated the personal and family risk and explain the rationale. Outlined and differentiated the features of the various types of insurance products, both personal and general insurance. Developed and implemented strategies, and, explained the review process, claims and handling disputes.
