Syllabus:Examination of the Internet and its importance to Accounting, including electronic payment systems, electronic commerce, web accounting resources and emerging technologies. It provides a review of hardware, software and data communication systems including networks, web browsers, File Transfer Protocol, Mail and Newsgroups.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this course students will have - Demonstrated an understanding of basic Internet and WWW technology. Understood the major opportunities and challenges inherent in attempting to utilise the Internet for commercial means. Understood aspects of copyright as it applies to the Internet.
