Syllabus:Application of concepts, knowledge, skills and current research findings related to midwifery care in complex care situations in midwifery. Level 2 neonatal nurseries. Collaborative maternity care.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated the ability to provide midwifery care at a competent level (ACMI, 1998) when childbearing differs from the essentially normal. Integrated evidence based knowledge in the analysis of complex collaborative midwifery and obstetric practice. Demonstrated the ability to utilise a problem solving approach in the provision of midwifery care in complex situations when child bearing differs from the essentially normal. Evaluated collaborativerelationships with other members of the health care team in the care of women when variation from the essentially normal occurs.
