Syllabus: | Provides the appropriate theoretical framework and develops appropriate research skills to enable you to locate your practice as an artist within the larger context of cultural theory. Also includes further case studies of artist's research methodologiesthrough visits to studios and exhibitions. Examines significant aspects of professional practice as they apply to the visual artist. The final weeks of the semester will be devoted to student seminar presentations of your project documentation. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Discussed and critically examined current theoretical issues in relation to their own practice as artists. Developed skills in specific modes of research practice employed in the visual arts. Identified pertinent areas of theoretical speculation and undertaken research into areas that are apposite to their practice as an artist. |
