Syllabus: | Explores the Australian Legal System as it applies to the legal environment within which the managerial function operates. In particular it covers important and practical issues of legal procedure, torts relevant to managers, business structures, agency law, laws protecting consumers and regulating business actions, laws applying to finance and bankruptcy as well as insurance and intellectual property. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have- An overview the operation of the Australian Legal System on the business environment. Explored in more detail some aspects of the legal background over which the managerial function operates. A broad outline of Australian Business Law relevant to management. Examined selected aspects of particular relevance in more detail. Appreciated some of the rules and principles applying to managerial functions. |
