Introduction
The course provides graduates from disciplines other than metallurgy with a knowledge and understanding of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy. The course is available also to persons who have been employed for a number of years in the mineral industry as metallurgists who wish to update their original qualifications.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A bachelors degree in an engineering or science discipline. Applicants may also be considered on the basis of other qualifications and relevant experience.
Duration and Availability
This fee paying course is two years full-time or equivalent part-time study. The course is also available on an external study basis.
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
