Introduction
This course is for graduates of programs other than Asian studies, to develop skills in an Asian language and understanding of the cultural heritage which underlies that language.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
An approved bachelors degree or equivalent.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
This is a fee paying course normally available in part-time mode only. Students who have already completed four semesters in one of the languages may be able to complete the course in full-time mode.
Course Organisation
Students will complete an Asian Languages stream and an Interculutral Communication stream. Within the Intercultural Communication stream two full optional may be taken using Asian Language Units, Intercultural Communication Units or the Language Project 500.
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
