303432 v.2 Horticultural Management Major
Introduction
This major provides agribusiness management and marketing education and training combined with technical training in principles of horticulture, soil management advanced intensive production system, crop husbandry and post-harvest handling and quality control. Students study horticulture within a systems framework that considers wider national and international market issues and environment constraints that impact on the industry. There is an opportunity to take options in production areas such as fruit, viticulture, vegetable, ornamental and amenity horticulture. This major will enable graduates to assume leadership roles within the horticultural industry as well as in the broader agribusiness sector.Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible to apply for membership of the Australian Institute of Agriculture Science and Technology. In addition, students are eligible to join the following professional bodies - Australian Institute of Horticulture and the Royal Australian Institute of Parks and Recreation.
