Course Overview
Bachelor Degrees prepare students to develop broad and coherent knowledge and skills in a discipline for professional work and further learning corresponding to AQF level 7 qualifications.
The Bachelor of Commerce is a business qualification designed to help you reach your career potential and prepare you for the changing job market. Your learning experiences will be richly interactive and industry connected, using advanced technologies that develop your decision-making and leadership skills, both of which are essential in a future marketplace. The course starts with a business foundation year, where you will explore value creation in business, learn to use financial information to make informed and responsible decisions, and develop your business intelligence and analytical capabilities to interpret data in a meaningful way. Following on from this, you’ll choose one or two major areas of business in which to specialise and gain expertise, employing learned career management theories to plan your own success. This degree will grow your international business outlook and connect you with industry. In your final year, you’ll undertake an industry work placement or work on an applied business project, applying your entrepreneurial skills, business ideas and ‘out of the box’ thinking to a real business environment.

Course Overview Note
Students should be aware that they need to commence the first 4 Business Core Units before they undertake the core Data Analytics for Decision Making and the first unit for their major in Year 1, Semester 2.

Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Course Organisation
Bachelor Degrees typically contain a series of units which may include compulsory (core), optional or elective units to cater for student preferences. They may contain a range of majors, streams and/or minors for students to choose from to pursue learning in a specialised area of study.
The course starts with a foundation business core, where students will explore value creation in business, learn to use financial information to make informed and responsible decisions, and develop business intelligence and analytical capabilities to interpret data in a meaningful way. Following on from this, students choose one or two major areas of business in which to specialise and gain expertise, employing learned career management theories to plan success. All students complete 5 common core units in Year 1 (125 credits) and a capstone unit in the final year. Refer to relevant Pathway for further structure information.
Course Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. apply discipline knowledge to solve complex business problems and create innovative business solutions that consider the global business environment

Duration and Availability
This course is three years full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units and majors may be available via external study. Some majors in this course are not available at all campus locations and to international students studying in Australia. Please refer to information provided for individual majors.

# Finance and Financial Planning Double Major students must enrol in the FNCE3002 Financial Plan Construction unit for their Final Semester Capstone Experience.
## Recommended Capstone Unit for majors other than the Finance and Financial Planning Major.
& To study Accounting or Financial Planning Majors choose the SSET-ACCST pathway.
&& To study Commerce Majors choose the SSET-COMST pathway.
* All Accounting Major Students must undertake the Alternate Unit, ACCT1000 - Accounting - The Language of Business unit to remain eligible for professional membership with CPA or CAANZ.
** FBL Student Engagement Team approval is required prior to enrolment.
+ Students wanting to undertake some of the Capstone Experience units, such as Internship and Engagement, or mobility offerings will be required to meet eligibility requirements prior to being approved for enrolment.
++ Students who select a 450 credit Double Major will be streamed into a defined structure, which will not allow for an optional or elective unit, or specialisations to be selected.
^ Required Capstone Unit for students undertaking the Finance and Financial Planning Major.
^^ Students must Select 1 x 200 credit Major and a combination of 1 additional 200 credit Major, OR 2 x 100 credit Specialisations.
