SSET-ACCST v.1 Accounting and Financial Planning Pathway (BCom)

This pathway is designed for students who wish to study Accounting or Financial Planning majors. Students who wish to study any of the general Commerce majors should select the SSET-COMST Pathway.
Organisation
In the Bachelor of Commerce, once you have completed your foundational business core, you will choose to study one or more Major discipline area/s. If you are interested in Accounting, Finance or Financial Planning, you can select: 1. a double major (totalling 450 credits/ eighteen (18) units; or 2. a single accounting major (totalling 300 credits/ eight (12) units), with electives (a further 150 credits/ ten (10) units - flexible choice from across the University - a total of 450 credits). With this choice you can select one specialisations Or electives (specialisations are a set of four (4) units each). The total Bachelor of Commerce credit you must achieve is 600 credits; it must include - the foundational Business Core (125 credits (five (5) units)) - Business capstone experience (25 credits (one (1) unit) & - your choice of majors/ major, elective/ specialisation from any of the above combinations. see https://businesslaw.curtin.edu.au/ for info or contact your School Student Services Officer

# Students wanting to undertake some of the Capstone Experience units, such as Internship and Engagement, or mobility offerings will be required to meet eligibility requirements prior to being approved for enrolment.
## Students who select a 450 credit Double Major will be streamed into a defined structure, which will not allow for an optional or elective unit, or specialisations to be selected.
* Accounting Major students must complete the unit ACCT1000 Accounting - The Language of Business to remain eligible for professional membership with CPA or CAANZ.
** Finance and Financial Planning Double Major students must enrol in the FNCE3002 Financial Plan Construction unit for their Final Semester Capstone Experience.
