Syllabus: Introduction to process integration; Heat integration: Graphical and numerical targeting approach; Supertargeting; Utilities selection; Stream splitting and optimisation of heat exchange network design; Process Retrofit; Process modifications; Threshold problem; Multiple pinches; Individual minimum temperature difference; Zonal and pressure drop targeting; Mass integration: Graphical and numerical targeting method of mass exchanger network; Water integration: Graphical and numerical targeting method of water network; Water network design; Property integration: Graphical and numerical targeting method of property network; Property network design; Mathematical modelling: Introduction to optimisation; Mathematical approaches related to process integration (heat integration, mass integration, property integration).
