Introduction to pharmacodynamics of drug action - relationships between drug dosage (concentration) and drug effect. Drug-receptor interaction - structure-activity relationships. Drug acting at synaptic and neuro-effector junctional sites. Sympatho-adrenal system structure and function, noradrenergic transmission and the role of adrenaline and pharmacological implications. Sympathomimetic drugs; drugs which modify sympathetic neuronal activity and block sympathomimetic receptors. Cardiovascular drugs - Anti-arrhythmic agents.
