Prerequisite(s): 7031 (v.5) Geology 101 or any previous version
Syllabus: Introduction to structural geology and metamorphism. Laboratory study of metamorphic rocks and minerals. Interpretation of three-dimensional geological structures. Measurement of rock structures using the compass/clinometer. Earth resources. The principal ore minerals and their identification. The nature, mineralogy and morphology of the major types of mineral and energy deposit. Metals, fuels and industrial minerals. Mineral and energy exploration including geochemical and geophysical exploration. Introduction to mining geology.
