Syllabus:	An introduction to anthropology, the appearance and development of anthropology as a discipline, the relationship between culture and biology, and an introduction to the traditional topics of anthropology: marriage, family, kinship, gender, ritual, politics, economy and language. The holistic and comparative nature of anthropological work and the concepts and theories of contemporary anthropological practice.
