Syllabus: Operations management is a core activity within all organisations, critical to business strategy, performance outcomes, competitiveness and sustainability. This unit examines the role of operations in service and manufacturing, profit and non-profit and SME organisations. A strategic approach to understanding operations is employed, with innovation and excellence examined to create sustainable competitive advantage. The unit provides conceptual, analytical and practical learning into them management, challenges and opportunities of operations.
