Syllabus: The unit provides a real-time global context for understanding how to evaluate and modify international policy design, enabling students to critically assess the policy choices made by decision-makers, and formulate alternative policy options in the public and private spheres. Topics include alternative theoretical and methodological approaches, the use of coercion and cooperation in interstate relations, policy making, forms of international security, global governance, public international law and the role of individual agency.
