Syllabus (HB):	The unit covers basic Chinese and Japanese languages, including useful engineering terminologies. Chinese and Japanese cultures will be studied. There will be case studies to illustrate how cultures affect industrial practices and their development. Contextualised strategies will be presented to develop an understanding of corporate intercultural communication patterns. The skills to communicate successfully and be at ease in the two East Asian cultures will be developed with a focus on enhancing professional interactions with the two Asian powerhouses.
