Syllabus: Application of basic surveying and mapping principles. Application of CAD software packages for representation of spatial data including but not limited to - coordinate systems, element placement and manipulation, editing, reference files and precision drafting. Graphic calculator applications and programming. Field camp involving teamwork and organisational skills in order to plan, execute and present results of a topographic survey. The field camp includes but is not limited to - reconnaissance, traversing, levelling, detail survey, topographic mapping and report presentation of results.
