Syllabus: Introduction to subsurface mapping, types of subsurface maps and cross sections, contouring and contouring techniques, rules and methods of contouring, directionally drilled wells, well log correlation, log correlation procedures and guidelines, repeatedsection, restored tops, unconformities, computer-based log correlation, fault mapping, seismic/well log data integration, structural and stratigraphic cross sections definition and construction, map construction, definition of different types of subsurface maps, construction of isochron and isopach maps, property maps, facies maps, volumetric configuration of a reservoir.
