Syllabus: Provision of pharmaceutical services to residential care facilities and hospitals. Clinical governance as it relates to the quality use of medicines - including drug utilisation review and evaluation, formularies, therapeutic guidelines and the national Prescribing Service. Application of pharmaceutical principles to crushing of medications and repackaging pharmaceuticals in dosage administration aids. Influence of route of administration on therapeutic outcomes, dose design issues related to hospital inthe home and compounding pharmacy. Provision of medication review services, disease state management and other current advancements in cognitive pharmaceutical service delivery.
