** The tuition pattern below provides details of the types of classes and their duration. This is to be used as a guide only. For more precise information please check your unit outline. **
Tutorial: 1 x 2 Hours Weekly
Syllabus: This unit has two main parts. The first part will consider the mathematical content appropriate to the primary and middle school where students will develop a deeper understanding of the content needed to advise colleagues. The second part will investigate policy statements relating to primary mathematics teaching in the school context and methods for working with colleagues and parents to develop the quality of mathematics teaching and learning. An area for consideration will be devising, developing anddisseminating school policies on aspects of mathematics to align them with State documents and international research data and recommendations. It will also consider leadership and coordination of mathematics teaching within the primary school. More general issues, such as moderating student work across classes and across schools, will be considered as a vital part of the role of a mathematics coordinator.
