Syllabus: An introduction to the systems of language: phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and orthography. Different theoretical approaches to these language systems and their practical application in English language teaching. To develop an understanding of the systems of language, the ability to relate theoretical knowledge to practical teaching situations, and an independent and critical approach to learning.
