Syllabus:	Equilibrium and rate processes. Staged and continuous contact processes. McCabe-Thiele and Ponchon-Savarit methods of design for the unit operations of distillation. Solvent extraction. Leaching. Gas absorption and humidification. The two resistance models for mass transfer, transfer coefficients and units. Column internals, packing and their characteristics.
