Syllabus: This unit introduces students to the fundamentals of designing a basic website, aimed at assisting students to design, develop, and implement websites that can communicate effectively and function efficiently on the World Wide Web. The unit will focus oncoding and planning skills, based on current standards in web markup languages and general good design practice. It will explore the challenges and opportunities which the web provides for communications design. Particular attention is paid to learning about navigation, usability, utility, functionality, and design aesthetics.
