Syllabus (HB): This unit aims to deepen students understanding of the receiving end of communications media- consumers, audiences, publics and users. It will familiarise students with the social and cultural consequences of media consumption and provide a strong grouning in competing perspectives in audiences studies and the role of media usage in the formation of subcultures, public spheres, and national communities.
