Syllabus:

Morphology, classification, evolution and paleontology of the main invertebrate and plant fossil groups. Paleontology in stratigraphy on a world wide basis. The stratigraphic record and stratigraphic nomenclature. Principles of stratigraphic correlation,transgressions and regressions. Stratigraphic principles applied to basin analysis. A review of sedimentary basins in Australia.
