This unit is designed as an introduction to accounting and financial management, for managers and professionals without formal business qualifications. Specifically, it aims to increase your knowledge and understanding of a company's financial position,corporate accountability and how these effect business decisions. It will allow the assessment of companies according to their liquidity, profitability, financial backing and triple-bottom-line performance. In doing so, it will enable you to better understand the real drivers of a business and to explain, in financial terms, the costs and benefits of decision alternatives. It will provide you with the skills to communicate more effectively with finance and accounting managers.
