The unit teaches financial economics as applied to individual firms. The unit emphasises skills necessary for the chief financial officer to make decisions regarding issues such as capital markets and advanced investment and capital budgeting techniques.Agency issue and information asymmetry in corporate finance. Capital structure, dividend policy of companies. Capital raisings (debt and equity) by companies. Long and short term financing strategies and security offerings. Mergers and acquisitions and thories of restructuring.
