Syllabus: Introduction to process simulators - thermodynamic models. Pseudocomponents and hydrocarbon characterisation. Thermodynamic models - fitting non-ideal phase behaviour. Phase behaviour, dew points, critical behaviour, solids. Flowsheeting - refrigeration units. Flowsheeting - turboexpander plant - basic setup. Flowsheeting - turboexpander plant. Heat integration. Flowsheeting - fractionation plants. Flowsheeting - amine unit simulation - basic setup, effect of process conditions. Flowsheeting - dynamic simulation - Deethanizer application setup. Flowsheeting - dynamic simulation - Deethanizer control loops.
