Introduction

Information and communication technologies are increasingly reshaping global business and many facets of human endeavour. With technological advances specialist expertise in areas such as communication networks, mobile radio communications and digital signal processing are increasingly required in the telecommunications industry. This course provides a solid foundation for Telecommunications and Networking and develops specialist knowledge and expertise in areas of current and future importance.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A four year degree program in a relevant branch of engineering, science or computer science. Relevant professional experience is required for candidates who graduated more than five years ago.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study. Part-time progression is subject to availability of units, sequencing of units within the course, and visa requirements. Due to the coherent nature of the program entry is only available in March each year.

Course Organisation

The Masters Program Coordinator may allow one unit subsitution in second semester (apart from the research project), to allow specialisation in a relevant area.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
