Syllabus:

This unit is an introduction to the central literature in the urban design field for students with little or no background in design. Its purpose is to ensure familiarity with key authors and texts, and to develop a shared vocabulary of concepts and ideas through which students can more effectively examine their own design propositions in the studio and evaluate the theoretical content of other units in the course.
