Syllabus:

Helps students develop a critical understanding of multimedia with respect to its historical, social, cultural, economic and political contexts. Examination of the historical and technological developments in which multimedia has emerged within which design plays a significant role. This unit encourages students to investigate the opportunities for the professional practice of design and multimedia against a backdrop of the broader social, cultural, economical and political contexts. This exploration will provide students with a grounding for a broad range of multimedia practice and new fields of specialisation in continually evolving technological environments and cultures.
