Syllabus:

Case studies of management of selected Australian and West Australian fisheries. Economics including input and output controls, habitat and species protection.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Explained the biology of species caught by various fisheries; performed interviews to obtain opinions of scientists, managers and on the management of Western Australian fisheries; compared and critically evaluated economics of Western Australian fisheries including input controls, output controls; described and analysed the environmental factors affecting various fisheries including habitat and species protection.
