Syllabus:

Fishing equipment and methods. Population dynamics of selected Australian commercial fish, crustacean and molluscan species. Assessment and monitoring of fisheries resources. Management of Australian fisheries. Legislative arrangements in Australian fisheries.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have- Described the population biology of selected Australian commercial crustaceans and finfish, explained the assessment of fisheries resources, analysed and explained the management of Australian fisheries resources, analysed the economics of fisheries.
