Syllabus:

Mineral exploration geophysics. Electromagnetic techniques, radioactivity, applications of electrical, seismic, gravity and magnetic methods. Integrated methods, case studies. Field trips and laboratory exercises are designed to give competence in acquisition, processing and interpretation of mineral exploration geophysical data.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Been presented with a comprehensive coverage of the electromagnetic, radiometric and well logging methods. Been presented with examples of geophysical surveys in mining, groundwater and engineering applications.
