Syllabus:Social Work theory and practice in the community context - the theory, history, processes and practice of community work in Australia and elsewhere. Skills and resources relevant to community practice. Integration of personal and professional values, skills and knowledge in social work practice at the community level.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of the sociology of communities and community work theory, as a theoretical base for social work practice at a community level. Examined the process and practice of community work in Australia and elsewhere. Acquired particular skills relevant to community development and basic knowledge of appropriate community recourses.
