Syllabus:Data presentation, analysis of univariate and bivariate data, regression analysis, probability and its distribution, matrices and solution of simultaneous equation by Gaussian elimination method.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this units students will be able to - Define clearly terminologies and concepts in basic statistics. Understand statistical concepts and appreciate their use in solving real-life problems. Make interpretation and prediction based on given data. Distinguish the type of data collected. Identify the appropriate probability distribution model for a given situation. Use scientific calculators and tables efficiently. Appreciate and use methods learnt in linear algebra to solve a variety of problems. Work independently and collaboratively to understand, formulate and solve problems and to communicate this both orally and in writing.
