Syllabus:

An introduction to the basics of algebra, geometry and calculus. These mathematical concepts and skills are required for an intensive non-mathematics university level course. Provides an integrated approach to commercial studies.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit, students should be able to - Understand and explain mathematical terms used in algebra. Translate mathematical word sentences to algebraic formulae. Make use of basic mathematical information given and use appropriate algebraic concepts, theorems and rules to solve real-life problems. Use scientific calculator and Microsoft Excel in solving mathematical problems.
