Syllabus:Exploration of nutritional issues associated with the clinical setting - metabolic responses to trauma, hospital malnutrition, screening of those at risk of poor nutritional status, assessment of nutritional status, food and nutrient and medication interactions - with lifestyle diseases - diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer - and with pre-term and term infants.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have demonstrated advanced knowledge of key areas of nutrition and dietetics.
