Syllabus:Types of simulation techniques, Finite difference approximation of flow equations, Stability analysis, Grid geometry and orientation, Model building and quality control, Data up-scaling, Pseudo functions, History matching, Pre and Post processing and useof 4D seismic.
 
Unit Outcomes: On completion of this unit students will have - Been provided with a sound understanding of reservoir simulation techniques and application. Reservoir simulation is the ultimate hydrocarbon reservoir performance prediction tool available in the industry. Become familiarised with, various types of simulations, preparation and quality checking and techniques to upscale sparse data. Participated in hands on training in commercially available simulation software.
