Syllabus:Training in the Japanese language aimed at increasing the communicative competence in all the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, and cultural knowledge associated with the topics dealt with. Further Kanji will be introduced. The style use is mainly the polite style, thought the plain style will be introduced. Not available to students whose first language is Japanese.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- The ability to talk, write and read about everyday life, weather and climate, seasons, hobbies and leisure activities and family. The ability to make suggestions and comparisons, explain reasons and express probability and changes. Added approximately seventy five kanji to their knowledge. Gained some writing skills through essay and letter writing.
