| Syllabus: | Apply theory and principles of cadastral field surveying to determine the location of land boundaries. Develop field procedures to manage and conduct a cadastral survey for boundary redefinition and/or subdivision. Identify and weight field evidence to determine original land boundary positions. Identify and evaluate historical survey information required to undertake field surveying and correctly reinstate boundaries. Undertake the surveying process from start to finish: searching, pre-calculation, fieldwork, field checks, post-fieldwork calculations, new and existing boundary marking, plan preparation and reporting/justifying boundary redefinition decisions. Students also undertake a work placement. |
