Syllabus: | Use a systems approach assess, diagnose, manage, document and evaluate care related to the unstable client in surgical or medical settings. Apply therapeutic communication and meet relevant competency standards in selected clinical contexts. Assess and manage care needs of people with depressive states. Inter-professional care planning. Medication (parenteral, paediatric) preparation, administration and recording, dosage calculations and medication infusion devices. Intravenous fluid replacement therapy across the lifespan, including blood product replacement. Advanced pain management across the lifespan. Emergency procedures, including paediatric (infant and child) resuscitation. Advanced wound and stoma care. Nutritional support, Pre/post operative care. Principles of isolation and barrier nursing. |
