Syllabus: | This unit will explore the determinants of health and global chronic health conditions: pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis and clinical decision making for health management of individuals with chronic health states: pain, stress, altered healing, altered mobility, immune dysfunction, fluid, electrolyte and endocrine disturbances. Students will explore the promotion of self-management strategies that can be adopted illness. The pharmacological management in chronic health is also explored. Pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, drug actions and interactions, drug classifications (according to body systems), principles of medication administration, drug distribution systems, routes of administration will be examined. |
