Syllabus: | The unit will cover human energy balance including methodology, components of energy expenditure, control of food intake, principles of energy requirements and body composition analysis from the perspective of chronic energy deficiency unto obesity. Foetal origins of adult disease, protein and alcohol metabolism will also be covered. These principles will be used to explore the nutritional basis of chronic non-communicable disease. |
