| Syllabus: | This unit discusses private law disputes which involve foreign law, including law from other national legal systems or from another jurisdiction within a federation. The unit covers the nature and scope of conflicts between legal systems, jurisdiction, inappropriate fora, the enforcement of foreign judgments and choice of law, including personal connecting factors, the exclusion of foreign laws and choice of law in the specific fields of marriage and divorce, contract, and torts. |
